GLENDALE – Entering the season with the 27th easiest strength of schedule, many experts had the Arizona Cardinals as a favorite to make they’re first playoff push since 2021. However, four straight losses, to a total of nine points, has completely derailed Arizona’s season. The franchise sits at 2-4, with the schedule not letting up in the next few weeks against some tough playoff opponents.

Head coach Jonathan Gannon spoke with the media on Monday about how the team has handled the rough start to the 2025 season. Gannon opened up about the team’s dissatisfaction of where they’re at, but hammered home the roster is still ready to compete.

Gannon on how team’s handling about being 2-4:

“Probably as good as you can. They’re not happy, they’re not happy. We feel like we’re right there, but to get in the win column, we got to do a little bit more. But, I am proud of them. The response in the last couple of games and how they have went, going on the road to play a good team, I thought our response was the right response. There’s no pointing blame, there’s no finger pointing. Guys have good energy, they got good enthusiasm, they’re continuing to play hard.

“We’re all in it together, man. There’s still a lot of ball to be play, and they know that, we’re going to be pros about it and try to get a win this week.”

The Cardinals return home to play the Green Bay Packers in Week 7 before their bye week the following Sunday. The difference between 2-5 and 3-4 are night and day for a team trying to compete for a playoff spot. In the past 35 years, only seven teams have made the postseason after starting the season 2-5.

Arizona still has a positive point differential, despite having a .333 winning percentage. Every single game this season has been a one score game, and the Cardinals just can’t get on the winning sides of those types of game. Gannon acknowledge how close the team is to realizing their true potential. Luckily for the franchise, there is still 11 more games for Gannon and his players to right the ship.
