Cardinals' J.J. Watt offers to pay fan after controversial parlay miss

Arizona Cardinals defensive star J.J. Watt is in a giving mood early this holiday season.

As explained by TMZ Sports and Daniel Chavkin of Sports Illustrated, a bettor shared on Twitter that he missed out on a parlay after Watt was controversially robbed of a defensive touchdown during Sunday's 27-17 win over the Los Angeles Rams:

With under two minutes to play in the second quarter, Arizona's Myjai Sanders forced a fumble via a hit on Rams quarterback John Wolford that was ultimately scooped up by Watt for what would've been an easy score. However, the play was quickly ruled dead before it was correctly overturned to a strip sack. The overall outcome benefited the Cardinals, as they scored on the next drive, but it did nothing for anybody who bet on Arizona scoring a defensive touchdown against the Rams.

Watt took to Twitter on Monday to declare he would make things right financially for the hurting individual:

Watt has a history of such gestures regarding much more serious topics. In July, he offered to help pay for the cost of a funeral so a fan wouldn't have to sell some merchandise. Last fall, the 33-year-old reportedly covered funeral costs for victims of the Waukesha Christmas parade attack.

As it pertains to on-the-field matters, Watt and the 4-6 Cardinals will take on the 5-4 San Francisco 49ers next Monday night.
