Cardinals might be on verge of cleaning house

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray dropped an f-bomb to describe his team's scheme on Sunday.

Murray's brutal honesty about how things are going for the team on offense might be the harbinger of doom for Kliff Kingsbury's tenure as Arizona's head coach.

Kingsbury, the former college football darling, has a 28-31-1 record at the helm of Arizona through this past Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Kingsbury's coaching staff has gone through the ringer this season. The team recently had to fire assistant coach Sean Kugler for allegedly groping a woman while the Cardinals were in Mexico City.

Running backs coach James Saxon was also put on administrative leave in August after it was revealed he was facing domestic battery charges

The Cardinals are also middling on offense. As of Monday afternoon, ESPN shows they are only 19th in the league for total offensive yards a game (334.8). Murray is 17th in the NFL for net passing yards a game with 219.8.

The team is 18th in the league in rushing yards a game (114.9) and 16th in total scoring (22 points per game).

On defense, things look even worse. The team is 21st in the NFL in yards allowed (356.2), and an alarming 31st in points allowed (26.8).

While the team's rushing defense is 11th in the NFL (110.8), it's the team's passing defense that's 24th in the league and allowing 245.4 yards per game.

The Cardinals aren't the worst team in the NFL, but allowing so many points per game shows a team that might've lost some of its fight on defense. The offense should be performing much better than it is, particularly with it being Kingsbury's specialty.

It's not exactly clear what's going to happen with Kingsbury or general manager Steve Keim after the season. If Murray's assessment of the situation is to be believed, it might not end well.
