The Arizona Cardinals got their first win of the 2026 NFL preseason Thursday night after taking down Fernando Mendoza and the Las Vegas Raiders, 27-14, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. However, it was not a great story all evening for the NFC West squad.

Cardinals right guard Chase Bisontis suffered an apparent serious injury in the third quarter, as he went down and grabbed his left knee.

Following the contest, Arizona head coach Mike LaFleur provided an unfortunate update on the rookie’s injury, describing it as “not good” (h/t Darren Urban of the Cardinals’ official website.

The former Texas A&M Aggies offensive lineman appeared to suffer the injury while doing pass protection duties. Bisontis was pushed to the ground and was seemingly in immediate pain.

Here is a video of the moment he appeared to sustain the injury early in the second half of the contest.

Still, the hope is that Bisontis has avoided a major injury that would force him to miss time during the regular season.

Selected by the Cardinals in the second round (34th overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft, the 22-year-old Bisontis mostly played with the backups in training camp, but his absence would hurt the team’s offensive line depth.

As for the game, the Cardinals got a solid performance from their quarterbacks, with Gardner Minshew throwing for 101 passing yards and two touchdowns on 14-of-16 pass completions, while Jacoby Brissett went 5-of-5 for 44 passing yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals, who lost to the Carolina Panthers in the Hall of Fame Game last week, will next play the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2 of the preseason at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
