The Arizona Cardinals are looking to add on to an already strong start to their rebuild that began last season, and 2024's offseason will be a pivotal second step in getting the team back to being competitive.
Various position groups need to be addressed, though solidifying protection up front for quarterback Kyler Murray will be key within the next few months.
PFF's Brad Spielberger highlighted the Cardinals as a top landing spot for two offensive linemen:
"Left guard was the clear weak spot for Arizona this past season, with longtime swing guard Elijah Wilkinson struggling throughout the season. Here, Cleveland goes to a Cardinals offense led by Drew Petzing, who left Minnesota right before he arrived in 2020."
"The Arizona Cardinals have questions at the tackle spots now with veteran D.J. Humphries tearing his ACL late in the 2023 campaign and 2023 rookie Paris Johnson Jr. perhaps kicking back over to take his spot on the left side. Becton has experience on both sides of the line but may choose to join a team with a clear opening on the left side. A one-year flier to potentially start at either spot or be a high-upside swing tackle could be appealing for both parties."
While the right side of the offensive line has been figured out, the left side is still very much up for debate with D.J. Humphries tearing his ACL at the end of the season (on top of being a cut candidate prior to that) and a left guard spot that saw a rotating door of players throughout the season.
We'll see how high on the priority list those two cogs are when compared to position groups such as WR, EDGE, CB, etc. moving deeper into the offseason.
