There's been an awful lot of talk surrounding the Arizona Cardinals and contracts lately.

The more prominent name dominating those headlines has been safety Budda Baker, who is in the middle of negotiations with the team on a re-worked deal that currently has just two years remaining.

Yet Baker isn't the only player waiting to put pen to paper, as Cardinals second-round pick BJ Ojulari has yet to sign his rookie contract. Ojulari has been present for voluntary workouts but hasn't been practicing - which is due to injury according to the team.

Ojulari - an edge rusher out of LSU - is the only member from Arizona's 2023 draft class that hasn't signed his rookie contract.

There's not a whole lot of wiggle room for rookies and their agents in rookie deals, as most parts are somewhat standard thanks to scales and measures placed by the CBA/NFLPA.

As of June 8, only two second-round picks have signed their contracts. Ojulari isn't behind any curve, and Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort told Arizona Sports' Luke and Wolf that he's not worried about the deal getting done.

"I'm not worried at all. That's going to take care of itself," Ossenfort said via Cardinals insider Tyler Drake.

Ojulari will have an opportunity to make an impact right away in a Cardinals front seven that lost J.J. Watt, Markus Golden and Zach Allen. It will be interesting to see how he figures into a rotation that will feature Zaven Collins (who is making the move from ILB to OLB), Myjai Sanders and Cameron Thomas among others.

Mandatory minicamp begins June 13 with training camp set for late July.
