GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals have went back-to-back days of signing cornerbacks, after a season-ending injury to Starling Thomas V and Jaden Davis being placed on IR. While Davis is expected to be back, the holes in the secondary remain. On Sunday, the team signed Steven Gilmore, and the next day it adds former Western Michigan and UFL cornerback Keni-H Lovely.

Cardinals in a press release on Lovely:

“Lovely (5-11, 175) most recently played with the Michigan Panthers in the UFL and appeared in nine games, totaling 26 tackles (18 solo), nine passes defensed, and one interception. He entered the NFL in 2024 with Buffalo as an undrafted rookie free agent from Western Michigan. Lovely appeared in 42 games at Western Michigan and recorded 107 tackles (71 solo), 16 passes defensed, 11 tackles for loss, six interceptions, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 1.0 sack. Lovely will wear jersey #15.”

Lovely is the second UFL player the franchise has signed this offseason, with defensive lineman Kyon Barrs joining the roster last week. As a part of the Michigan Panthers, the team went 6-4 and allowed the fourth-least amount of points during last season.

The 25-year-old is technically one of the oldest cornerbacks in the locker room at 25 year old but does lack the experience of playing in the NFL, only having reps with the Buffalo Bills. At 5’10, he holds a 4.39 40-yard dash and has a 38.5″ vertical jump. His athleticism is no question, but his technique at the next level will be tested with the Cardinals next season.
