Cardinals targeting defensive line in latest mock drafts

The NFL regular season is over and this years draft order is set with the Cardinals earning the 16th overall pick. The question now is, what should they do with it? Arizona has plenty of positions of need after finishing the season 8-9, with most of them coming on the defensive side of the ball. Top priorities this offseason start at the defensive line, edge rusher and linebacker.

Mock drafts have already started to come out with at least three publications having Arizona grabbing different defensive pieces. Bleacher Report has the Cardinals picking Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams. The 265lb junior is an incredible athlete and extremely physical and great after getting after the quarterback. CBS Sports has them taking Kenneth Grant out of Michigan. He has a massive frame at 6’3, 340lbs, but is considered someone that’s better at setting the line than rushing the quarterback. Finally, USA Today has the Cardinals grabbing a defensive player from Georgia as well, but they have them taking linebacker Jalon Walker. They are projecting most of the top defensive lineman to already be off the board and then Arizona decides to address another area of need. Walker is a great tackler and can rush the quarterback, but could work a little on his pass defensive.

The NFL draft is set for April 24th.
