Despite the Arizona Cardinals going just 8-9 and missing the playoffs in 2024, the season was still relatively successful considering the team went 4-13 in both 2022 and 2023.
A big piece of the turnaround was the offense, which ended up putting out solid numbers, finishing the season ranked 12th in points per game (23.5) and 11th in total yards per game (358.2).
However, there's no doubt the Cardinals could get better, and in an article for NFL.com, Jeffri Chadiha suggests the Cardinals should sign six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen to bring in another target for quarterback Kyler Murray.
"There are plenty of teams who need veteran help at wide receiver, but Allen fits in Arizona because the Cardinals must unlock all the potential in Marvin Harrison Jr., who was the fourth overall pick in last year’s draft ... and he (Allen) can give quarterback Kyler Murray another dependable target to go along with tight end Trey McBride," Chadiha wrote.
Last year with the Chicago Bears, he put up solid numbers, starting 15 games and accumulating 70 receptions, 744 yards and seven touchdowns on 121 targets, so there's no doubt he can still be a productive player.
Those numbers suggest he could immediately come and challenge Michael Wilson, who had 47 receptions, 548 yards and four touchdowns last season as Murray's No. 2 option at wide receiver.
It's not as though the Cardinals would need to pay some large price tag for Allen's services either, as Spotrac predicts that his market value will earn him a two-year, $22 million contract.
