Carolina Panthers Sign Longtime Veteran To One Year Deal
Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

The Carolina Panthers extended a veteran

The Carolina Panthers have a new regime taking over for the 2023 season. One longtime player for the franchise will continue playing for the new staff. The Panthers hired Frank Reich to be their next head coach. He must be impressed by one veteran special team’s player.

According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Panthers signed long snapper J.J. Jansen to a one-year contract.

The 37-year-old athlete has been in the NFL since 2008, when the Packers signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame. He lasted one season with the Packers before they traded him to the Pants for a conditional draft pick. Jansen has been playing in Carolina ever since.

Jansen holds the Panthers’ record for the most games played by an athlete. He broke the record in December. With another season under his belt in 2023, it’ll be a while before anyone breaks Jansen’s record with the Panthers.
