CBS Sports gives Packers' Jordan Love surprising slot in QB power rankings

So far, apparently so good for Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love.

He hasn't necessarily looked bad through two games, but his completion percentage of 55.8% is near the bottom of the league. On the flip side, he's thrown three touchdown passes in both of Green Bay's games and no interceptions. In fact, Love has the best quarterback rating in the league right now behind Brock Purdy, Dak Prescott and Tua Tagovailoa.

If it wasn't for a strange "butt-fumble-esque" play against Atlanta, the reviews of Love so far would all be raving.

And even with that, CBS Sports does think extremely high of the young quarterback tasked with replacing Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. Only Patrick Mahomes, Tagovailoa and Purdy were ranked higher, actually.

"From Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers to this guy. He's been a bit boom or bust in terms of completion percentage (55.8) and botched a critical QB sneak in Week 2. But man does he throw a pretty downfield ball. Six TDs and no picks so far," Cody Benjamin wrote in a Week 3 NFL QB Power Rankings post.

In the grand scheme of things, Love is not yet be better than some of the quarterbacks ranked behind him, such as Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts and Trevor Lawrence, but this is a ranking that is only taking into two weeks of play in 2023, remember, and not the quarterback's whole body of work.

There's also the fact that we don't really have much else to go off when it comes to Love, so his play on the field in 2023 is speaking for itself.

He may not be a future Hall of Famer like Rodgers and Favre, but it certainly seems like the Packers have themselves — at the very least — a competent and talented quarterback to build around.

That's incredible, if you really think about it, because most were expecting a massive drop-off.
