By now, you've probably heard it all about the Dallas Cowboys' trade for controversial wide receiver George Pickens.
You've heard about the vertical threat he's expected to bring to the offense, about how he will help CeeDee Lamb get more favorable looks from opposing defenses, and even about Pickens' attitude concerns, which played a significant role in his exit from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But over the weekend, Lamb made the trade feel much better by putting his money where his mouth is and agreeing with Pickens in that they're both No. 1 wide receivers.
Following the trade, Lamb posted on social media about him having "no ego." He's proving he meant it by dismissing the notion that he will be the unquestioned WR1 on the Cowboys offense.
"Oh no, we both ones," Lamb told All City DLLS. "It ain't no A/B, none of that, it's one, you look over there you see one, you look over here, you see another one. So do what you gotta do with that."
Lamb's words echo Pickens' when he first spoke to the Dallas media as a Cowboys wide receiver.
"When I used to watch football. there was always a good receiver and there was always a good receiver on the side of him,” Pickens told reporters on a press conference call, via Jane Slater. “So I just feel like we're going to work off each other really well."
It doesn't take an expert to realize how talented both Pickens and Lamb are. But they will have to remain happy when the targets aren't going their way. These are both receivers that need to be targeted and Dak Prescott and Brian Schottenheimer will have to do their best to ensure both are fed properly.
But it'll be up to Pickens and Lamb to avoid problems from emerging when defenses zero in on one of them. They're off to a good start.
