After trading for former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout George Pickens last month, the Dallas Cowboys seemingly secured a No. 2 receiver for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense next season.
But that's not the way CeeDee Lamb sees it.
While Dallas' top target very much views himself as one of the best in the National Football League, he feels he and Pickens are both on the same level as WR1s.
"Now we both ones," Lamb said in an interview with DLLS Sports. "It ain't no A, B, none of that. It's one. You look over there, you see one. You look over here, you see another one. So do what you gotta do with that," he warned.
That opinion was seconded by Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones who also said he doesn't see Pickens as a traditional No. 2.
"He's just a dynamic receiver," Jones explained. "Everybody says we're looking for a two. I mean, George can be a one. He's got that type of talent. He's got unbelievable ball-tracking ability. He's got plenty of juice and he's a fiery competitor. And we love that, he plays with an edge, and we think he'd be a good fit for our team."
Lamb has been Dak's first, second and third read since the team traded Amari Cooper to the Browns back in 2022 and it's resulted in four Pro Bowl appearances and a first-team All-Pro selection.
It's hard to imagine Pickens will be able to match those numbers playing in Dallas, but it's clear the Cowboys envision big things for their passing game in 2025.
They'll need it too. As last season was their first time missing the playoffs since the COVID year in 2020.
