CeeDee Lamb Reveals Cowboys New Math With George Pickens

FRISCO - Welcome to the Dallas Cowboys' new math, where one plus two equals ... one?

For the last two seasons, CeeDee Lamb has painfully been the team's No. 1 receiver. He has 1,700 more yards than the second-most productive target, by far the largest gap in the NFL.

One of the top priorities this offseason was to find Lamb a No. 2 complement target. And by all accounts, they have failed miserably. Because they have landed another No. 1.

Last week vice president Stephen Jones raised eyebrows when he said the Cowboys pulled the bold trade for George Pickens because they considered him as a "No. 1 receiver." But now that Lamb has finally spoken out about the deal, Jones appears to be right.

Lamb and Pickens were in Scottsdale, Arizona over the weekend to play in Arizona Cardinals' quarterback Kyler Murray's celebrity softball game, and were in agreement on their roles for 2025.

"We both ones," Lamb said.

Echoed Pickens, "Yeah."

Lamb is a four-time Pro Bowl selection who two years ago produced the best receiving season in Cowboys' history with 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Pickens has only 12 touchdowns in his three seasons, but in 2023 led the league in yards per reception at more than 18 yards.

"It ain't no A/B, none of that," Lamb continued. "You look over there, you see 1. You look over here, you see another 1. So do what you got to do with that."

Quarterback Dak Prescott will still likely look to Lamb in crunch time. But it will be fascinating to see how defenses deal with the Cowboys' new math this season.
