The LA Chargers have built a track record for having a unique video when the NFL schedule is released every May. The Chargers don't stop there, though, as the team also has a less-publicized trend of comparing each upcoming opponent to a box of Pop-Tarts.
No, we aren't kidding. The Pop-Tarts are always made up and usually reflect some kind of characteristic about the opponent. Last year, former Las Vegas Raiders Davante Adams was so upset about his team's Pop-Tart comparison (which were trash-flavored) that he sent a firm warning to the Chargers before the season. He caught five passes for 59 yards in Week 1.
The Chargers unveiled their highly anticipated Pop-Tart social media thread before the official schedule release on Wednesday. While the Chargers took shots at several opponents, the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys stood out above the rest.

The Ouija Board comparison couldn't be more fitting for the Chiefs. As talented as Kansas City is, the team has some essence of luck around it that has definitely helped the multiple Super Bowl runs to this point.
Whether it be questionable officiating, someone's foot being one centimeter out of bounds, or in the Chargers' case, a doinked field goal for the win, the Chiefs always are on the receiving end of luck. There is something natural going on, just like a Ouija Board.
The Cowboys' Pop-Tart comparison was more straightforward but equally as savage. Dallas' Pop-Tarts are sun flavored, of course, because Jerry Jones has a multi-billion dollar stadium with windows facing the sun that he refuses to use curtains for.
Yes, AT&T Stadium has curtains that can be used at any time and have been used for other events. The Cowboys don't use them.
Other comparisons include black mold for what we are assuming is the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chargers posted a joke "redacted" image in place of a team, but based on the other opponents, it appears to be the Raiders.
The Giants were given a lasagna flavor because of Tommy DeVito, the Eagles were given a Mountain Dew flavor because of the Kelly Green jerseys, and the Titans were given a Pop-Tart with mayonnaise on it because, well, Will Levis really likes mayonnaise.
These Pop-Tarts are just the appetizer for what will likely be a very juicy schedule-release video later in the day on Wednesday. If the Chargers social media team is anything, it's creative.
