Chargers Encouraged to Sign Former Super Bowl MVP Defender

The issues with the Los Angeles Chargers’ defensive line are not nearly as big of a story as they were at the beginning of the offseason.

At the time, both Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa were set to hit free agency and things were looking bleak for the team’s pass rush.

Since then, they have re-signed Mack to a one-year $18 million deal and drafted a promising young edge rusher in the fourth round of this year’s draft.

They are undeniably in a better position than they were a couple months ago, but some media members think they can still improve.

Nearly three months into the start of free agency, it’s almost impossible to find any valuable players to sign.

However, there is still one impactful future Hall of Famer laying out in the open waiting to be picked up.

Anthony Palacios of Last Word on Sports believes that Los Angeles is the perfect fit for Von Miller who is coming off an impressive bounce back season.

The Denver Broncos legend had six sacks this year following a pathetic 2023 season in which he didn’t record a single sack across 12 games.

Miller is a far cry from the double digit sack monster that gave opposing defenses nightmares.

But, he still offers great production for someone in his mid-30’s and he’s coming off a three year tenure with the Buffalo Bills where he made nearly $50 million, so he probably won’t cost a fortune.

The Chargers have one of the youngest rosters in the NFL, but whenever you have a star quarterback like Justin Herbert, you are always in contention.

Adding a piece like Miller would signify to the fanbase and the league itself that Los Angeles is serious about competing.
