The average NFL fan has likely given an online mock draft simulator or two a spin in the lead-up to the 2023 NFL Draft. The average draft junkie? Probably a hundred or so times.
Tom Telesco, general manager of the Los Angeles Chargers, should qualify as a draft junkie considering that one of the main functions of his job is -- literally -- selecting players in the NFL Draft.
One would think that Telseco has been constantly surrounded by scouts and front-office personnel over the past few months and that the role-playing and scenario planning has only increased in intensity as the draft is now just days away.
Interestingly enough, though, the general manager revealed through Daniel Popper of The Athletic that NFL GMs can be just like us at times. You may have taken a few spins on an online mock draft simulator while bored at work.
Turns out, Telesco has done the same:
#Chargers GM Tom Telesco said he has enjoyed using some online mock draft simulators: "I've probably gone through 25, 30 times, just going through different scenarios to see if something could pop up that we're not prepared for."

If Telesco has tried 25 or 30 times, he's only a few hundred behind the average NFL Draft junkie.
The Chargers currently have the 21st pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. As it stands, they have one pick in each round.
