The Los Angeles Chargers are tasked with going up against the Kansas City Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl champions. And they are instantly at a disadvantage.
They aren't at a disadvantage because it's the Chiefs. No, these two teams always play each other close, and in fact, the Chargers have gotten the best of them far more often recently than the Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos. Instead, the disadvantage is that the Chiefs are just far more healthy than the Chargers. The Chiefs expect everyone to play but Justin Watson, who dislocated his elbow. Everyone else was a full go on Wednesday.
On the Chargers' side, they are dealing with a ton of injuries. They have six starters listed on the injury report who are dealing with some type of injury. The most notable is Justin Herbert, with his broken finger, and Rashawn Slater, who is nursing an ankle injury. The Chargers will have to find other ways to create advantages.
