Chargers Injury Report: Another Bolt Demoted To IR
USA TODAY Sports

It seems that the injury bug has caught the Los Angeles Chargers this week, as the team was forced to put another member of their defense on the injured list. Linebacker Tanner Muse now heads out after suffering a knee injury during the team's loss to the Green Bay Packers over the weekend.

Muse had appeared in each game this season for the Bolts but was primarily a special teams player. He posted one tackle in the game against Green Bay. In a corresponding move, the team signed linebacker Blake Lynch to the active roster. They also signed outside linebacker Ty Shelby to the practice squad.

The team may see Lynch as a good option to use as he does have some experience in the NFL. He has 20 career games under his belt, and made seven starts for the Minnesota Vikings.

In 2021, he posted 35 combined tackles and two sacks for the Vikings. He also had one forced fumble and an interception that year as well.

While Muse wasn't a big part of the Chargers defense, losing the depth does hurt this team. They need all the help that they can get right now while they try to right the ship.

LA just lost star defensive edge Joey Bosa to injury over the weekend as well, so it hasn't been a great few days for this organization. They currently sit with a record of 4-6, and have a tough matchup against the AFC-leading Baltimore Ravens this weekend.

Getting a win over Baltimore this weekend could possibly save their season from completely spiraling, but it won't be easy. The Ravens have one of the best defenses in the entire league, and they will likely create problems for this Chargers offense the entire game.
