Chargers' Jim Harbaugh thinks that the 2024 NFL Draft may actually start with Los Angeles' fifth overall pick

The Los Angeles Chargers hold the fifth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Could they go wide receiver? OL? Tight end? Only time will tell. Their new head coach thinks that they have a lot of power in this year's first round, though.

Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh raved to the media about the team's fifth-overall selection, according to Ian Rapoport.

It makes sense. The top four picks are projected to be quarterbacks, pending a trade-up.

There is a likely scenario in which Los Angeles gets their choice of any top prospect that is not a QB.

Accordingly, you could see Harbaugh and co. have the upper hand on a player like Marvin Harrison Jr. or Joe Alt, both of which are regarded as the top prospects at WR and OL, respectively.

The Chargers must take advantage of their spot to help Justin Herbert. Brock Bowers at TE could also have some merit, but I don't see him as a front runner for that pick as of now.

Regardless, Harbaugh needs to make a smart pick at fifth overall in order to continue the positive steam around the organization from this offseason.
