Chargers place Joey Bosa, Kemon Hall on COVID-19 list, out at Texans

The Los Angeles Chargers fell to 8-6 on the season via Thursday's prime-time loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and suffered concerning setbacks Monday ahead of this coming Sunday's matchup against the 3-11 Houston Texans.

Per ESPN, Chargers head coach Brandon Staley confirmed that Pro Bowl pass-rusher Joey Bosa and defensive back Kemon Hall will miss the Houston game after landing on the reserve/COVID-19 list. It was already known Bosa isn't vaccinated against the coronavirus, as he was deemed a high-risk close contact last month. Bosa wasn't out for a single contest during his last stint on the COVID-19 list.

Additionally, Staley told reporters that star running back Austin Ekeler and center Corey Linsley were added to the reserve/COVID-19 list but are considered "day-to-day," which indicates they could potentially test out of what recently became relaxed protocols.

Per ESPN stats, Bosa leads the Chargers with 9.5 sacks on the season. Ekeler, meanwhile, is the team's leading ball-carrier with 789 rushing yards and 10 scores on the ground. His seven touchdown catches are good for a share of the team lead with wide receiver Mike Williams.
