Chargers RB Austin Ekeler will likely play, WRs Keenan Allen and Mike Williams game-time decision vs. Raiders

The Los Angeles Chargers are set to face off against the Las Vegas Raiders Thursday night, but they could be without their two wide receivers. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Keenan Allen and Mike Williams are "true game-time decisions" as they try to recover from soreness over the short week.

Losing Allen (hamstring) and Williams (back), who were both designated as "questionable" on the team's injury report, would be a tough blow for the Chargers' offense. Allen has been especially great for the Chargers this season, as he has become the favorite target of rookie quarterback Justin Herbert, ranking second in the league with 99 receptions for 975 yards and eight touchdowns. Meanwhile, Williams has been solid, if not spectacular this year, totaling 572 yards receiving while not starting a few previous games due to injury.

Fortunately for the Chargers, one of their best offensive weapons is expected to be available, as Pelissero said that running back Austin Ekeler is expected to play Thursday despite dealing with some soreness in his quadriceps. Ekeler suffered a grade-2 hamstring strain back in Week 4 and was forced to miss eight weeks before finally returning to the Chargers' offense in their Week 12 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

The Chargers have officially been eliminated from the playoffs, but while it may seem like they have nothing to play for, head coach Anthony Lynn would definitely benefit from a few late-season wins as he tries to convince the team's ownership and front office to give him another year despite the team's underwhelming record and on-field performance all year.
