The Los Angeles Chargers are set to take on the Washington Commanders in a Week 5 clash that can determine how resilient this Jim Harbaugh-led team is, with all the injuries on this team.
With that being said, here is the final injury report for Sunday afternoon;
Full inactives: OT Joe Alt (ankle), WR Derius Davis (knee), TE Will Dissly (knee,) CB Nikko Reed, S RJ Mickens, EDGE Kyle Kennard, DL Naquan Jones
OUT
LT | Joe Alt (Ankle)
LT Joe Alt’s suffered a high ankle sprain in last week’s contest against the Giants, which will force him to miss his first game of the season. It’s a positive sign to see that he hasn’t been placed on IR, although it’s clearly severe enough to knock him out of this contest.
WR | Derius Davis (Knee)
Davis will miss his second consecutive game this season, where his presence was sorely missed in the return game.
Last week, special teams coordinator Ryan Ficken put CB Tarheeb Still as the primary punt returner and practice squad call-up RB Kimani Vidal as the secondary kickoff returner.
Both were underwhelming, with Still critically making the mistake of not fair catching the final punt to give the Chargers offense to tie the game potentially.
It remains to be seen if the All-Pro returner can return next week, as he’ll be sure to provide much-needed juice on special teams.
TE | Will Dissly (Knee)
Dissly is likely to make a return after missing two straight games due to an ailing knee injury suffered against the Raiders back in Week 2.
His ability as an in-line blocker will be crucial for the Chargers’ offense, which is battling with injuries all across a shaky offensive line group.
QUESTIONABLE
RG | Mekhi Becton (Concussion)
The 6’7″, 363 lbs offensive lineman was unable to clear concussion protocols last week, leading him to miss his first game of the season.
Things are trending upwards, however, as Becton will likely be back on the field and provide reinforcements to protect QB Justin Herbert.
TE | Tucker Fisk (Toe)
Tucker Fisk will be available for this game, as he logged a full practice on Friday, which tends to be a positive sign for players on the fence of suiting up.
