Entering the 2025 NFL season, the Chicago Bears were expected to take a step in the right direction as a franchise. So far, that has not been the case.

Through the first two weeks of the year, the Bears have gone 0-2. They lost in Week 1 to the Minnesota Vikings and backed that up with another NFC North loss in blowout fashion to the Detroit Lions in Week 2.

Caleb Williams has not done anything of note to instill confidence in his ability to be a long-term franchise quarterback. As a whole, the team has not come close to playing up to its potential. There are a lot of reasons to be disappointed and concerned about where the franchise currently stands.

Ahead of Week 3 action, a brutal reality check was thrown at Chicago in the form of a sad but true statistic.

Matt Spiegel made an appearance on 670 The Score on Friday and issued a blunt fact and stat that sums up the Bears’ struggles.

“You score 23 points on the Bears and you win,” he said bluntly.

Obviously, that comment shows just how bad the Chicago offense has truly been. Williams and company have been unable to score points at a high level. The defense can only do so much.

It is that exact point that has led many to begin calling for the Bears to consider a quarterback change. Tyson Bagent has started receiving a lot of talk as a potential starter. Ben Johnson has been very vocal about how much he likes Bagent’s game and that he thinks the young quarterback could be a high level starter.

Williams is not going to get benched this early in the season, but something has to change. Chicago keeps losing and the fans keep getting more and more frustrated.

At some point, changes will need to be made. The Bears cannot continue spending money and draft capital to improve just to put the same product on the field year in and year out.

Hopefully, the team is able to put on a much better show in Week 3 at home against the Dallas Cowboys. It won’t be easy, but Chicago badly needs to find a way to win a football game to get some pressure off of its back.
