More bad injury news for the Chicago Bears.

On Thursday, the team officially put safety Jaquan Brisker on injured reserve as he continues to deal with effects of a concussion.

Brisker, 25, suffered the concussion back in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers on a play that injured both him and Carolina's player, who was also later fined for the hit. Chicago's safety hasn't played since then, missing the team's past four games.

While Elijah Hicks has done a solid job taking his place, the development is still a big one for the Bears, as Brisker has been one of the top players on a strong defense the past couple of seasons.

With his move to IR, Brisker will miss at least four more games — at least eight total — although there's no certainty that he'll be ready to return as soon as he's eligible. Plus, if Chicago continues to sink in the standings, there's no sense rushing him back anyway.

He'll at least miss the Bears' games against Green Bay, Minnesota, at Detroit and at San Francisco, and will be eligible to return before the team's game at Minnesota on Dec. 16.

Before his injury this season, the 2022 second-round pick had tallied 40 tackles, 3 for loss, 2 passes defended, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and an interception.
