The Chicago Bears have reportedly zeroed in on Boise State Running Back Ashton Jeanty with the 2025 NFL Draft 72 hours away. Jeanty is coming off one of the best seasons for a running back in the history of college football. He just missed breaking Barry Sanders’ single-season rushing record. He also helped guide the Boise State Broncos to the College Football Playoff. Will Jeanty be a member of the Chicago Bears later this week?

Jeanty is the top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft according to nfl.com. He would be a great fit for the Chicago Bears, but may not be available at No. 10 overall. Recent reports indicated the Bears are so enamored with the star running back they would entertain trading up to draft him.
He fits a need for the team. They had one of the NFL’s worst rushing attacks last season. They were 25th in the league in rushing yards per game. Running Back D’Andre Swift was a marquee signing by the team last offseason, but he underwhelmed in 2024. Jeanty would be a sizable upgrade over Swift heading into 2025.
The Chicago Bears drafting Jeanty will be easier said than done. He will be sought after by many teams in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Las Vegas Raiders have been tied to Jeanty through much of the pre-draft process. A team other than Chicago trading up for the running back is also a possibility. Even though the Bears want Jeanty, drafting him will not be easy.
