NFL free agency is rolling along and the Chicago Bears have made another move. According to Adam Jahns of The Athletic, the Bears are signing former San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman, Matt Pryor.

Bears Signing 5-Year NFL Veteran Matt Pryor

During the 2018 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Matt Pryor 206th overall in the sixth round. But Pryor didn't see any NFL action until 2019 and even then wasn't a starter.

Pryor appeared in 27 games across three seasons with the Eagles but only started 10 of them and all of his starts came in 2020. Then Pryor signed with the Indianapolis Colts for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Chicago Bears head coach, Matt Eberflus, has experience with Matt Pryor albeit on the defensive side of the football with the Colts in 2021. During the 2022 campaign, Pryor recovered a fumble and returned it for 13 yards.

The 6-foot-7, 330-pound 29-year-old only missed one game while in Indianapolis and spent the 2023 season as a backup offensive lineman for the 49ers. He appeared in 15 games but didn't start any of them.

Pryor played most of his NFL snaps as a backup offensive lineman but also spent significant time on special teams. He provides depth for the Bears along the offensive line.
