Chicago Bears rule out 2 players that will give Ravens QB Lamar Jackson an advantage

The Chicago Bears are trying to win their first game in a row when they travel to play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. The Ravens 1-5 record is somewhat deceptive, as quarterback Lamar Jackson has been out since the second half of Week 4.

Baltimore should be at full force when they take on Chicago on Sunday. Former Bears linebacker Roquan Smith is healthy and ready for revenge on the Bears.

Per multiple reports, Jackson is trending toward returning from his hamstring injury to face Chicago.

“Ravens QB Lamar Jackson in positive spirits Friday afternoon as he walks off the practice field with teammates,” posted Josh Tolentino of the Baltimore Sun. “Jackson has participated in all three practice sessions this week leading up to Sunday’s home game against Chicago.”

The Bears had bad injury news on their final report of the week.

The Chicago Bears ruled out their top three cornerbacks

Syndication: Detroit Free Press Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams (9) makes a catch against Chicago Bears cornerback Kyler Gordon (6) during the first half at Ford Field in Detroit on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024.

The Bears ruled out five players for Sunday, including cornerbacks Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder) and Kyler Gordon (groin/calf). Tight Cole Kmet (back), LT Braxton Jones (knee) and running back Roschon Johnson (back) will not play either.

Chicago will be without its top three corners on Sunday, as Jaylon Johnson remains on injured reserve with a groin injury.

Gordon missed three of the first four games of the season with a hamstring injury. His inconsistency to stay on the field is troubling, given that Chicago gave him a three-year contract extension worth $40 million in April.

Sunday could be a challenge for defensive coordinator Dennis Allen to go against a two-time NFL MVP at quarterback without his best three cornerbacks.
