Chicago Bears sign offensive lineman for playoff push

The Chicago Bears made a few roster moves ahead of its week 14 matchup against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday.

On Friday, the Bears ruled out three players for the contest.

Chicago will be without leading wide receiver Rome Odunze due to a foot injury. Cornerback Tyrique Stevenson is out with a hip injury. Linebacker Ruben Hyppolite will not play with a shoulder issue, even after retiring to practice as a limited participant on Friday.

Per Bears PR, Chicago signed offensive lineman Jordan McFadden to the 53-man roster and waived linebacker Carl Jones Jr. The Bears are also elevating linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin for Sunday.

“The Bears have signed OL Jordan McFadden to the active roster and waived LB Carl Jones Jr. Additionally, Chicago has elevated LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.”

McFadden, a 2023 fifth-round pick by the Los Angeles Chargers, was claimed by the Bears in January off of waivers. The team signed him to the practice squad in August after he was cut in training camp.

McFadden has played in six special teams snaps this season in wins over the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles. He played college football for Clemson, winning the national championship in 2018. He earned first-team all-ACC honors and won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy in 2022.
