Chicago Bears fans had a mixed reaction to Simone Biles following Jonathan Owens’ signing with the Indiana Colts. The bemedalled Olympic gymnast was a fixture in Bears games as she cheered for her husband.
Owens arrived in Chicago during the 2024-25 season and played as a backup safety and a core member of the special teams. One of the 30-year-old’s best memories with the Bears was scoring a touchdown on a blocked punt in the opening game of NFL 2024.
Owens inked a one-year deal with the Colts as a free agent, as confirmed by his agent, Sunny Shah, to reporters.
Following the announcement of Owens’ departure, Bears fans turned their attention to Biles. While some said they will miss her on their side, some pointed to her as the one pushing for her husband’s transfer.
Bears supporters made their feelings known after the NFL announced Owens’ move to Indianapolis.

“Simone was good luck,” one fan sadly quipped. However, another contradicted claiming, “stop it she wore green bay gear on day 1 in Chicago and we didnt win [explative] his first year.”
A fan accused Biles, saying “she made the call
,” while another pointed the obvious, “Simone Biles is a Colts fan now
.”
This is not a surprise since Biles had always supported Owens and was frequently seen on the sidelines. Her presence during games ramped up especially after she competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Another fan expressed annoyance with Biles, saying, “all bears content on game day was all about Simone. Idk how u ain’t sick of that. Annoying [expletive]”
Still, another fan was sad, expressing, “We losing Simone Biles nooooo
.”
The Colts are Owen’s fourth team in his seven years in the NFL. He played for the Houston Texans for four seasons and spent one season with the Green Bay Packers.
