Chicago Bears General Manager Ryan Poles and Head Coach Ben Johnson are wasting no time retooling a much-maligned offensive line for the Monsters of the Midway. After trading for former Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams guard Jonah Jackson, the Bears are now reportedly trading for Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro guard Joe Thuney.

The Bears are trading a future 4th-round pick for the 32-year-old who is signed through the 2025 season, and with that move, the Bears have made massive strides in solidifying the interior of their offensive line heading into the 2025 season.

Thuney has been an iron man during his nine-year career, playing in 146 of a possible 148 games for both the New England Patriots and Chiefs. His presence will give the Bears a much-needed veteran voice across the offensive line. He is coming off back-to-back first-team All-Pro accolades.

Following the trade, the Bears will pay Thuney $16 million for the 2025 season. In two quick moves, the Bears have completely reshaped the identity of their front five. With free agency on the horizon, its hard to imagine any other position than center being at the top of the team's wish list.
