Things are not looking good right now for Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus.
After losing a third straight game in embarrassing fashion, the scene at Soldier Field was filled with more boo's and cries for the team to make a coaching change of some sort.
While talking to the media after the loss, Eberflus noted that everything is on the table and even addressed his own position potentially being called into question.
As of Monday morning, no decision has been made as of yet on the Bears' coaching staff, but that doesn't mean things are looking up for Eberflus.
While on his weekly appearance on ESPN 1000's morning show on Monday, Eberflus' phone call failed multiple separate times due to a poor phone connection. The show eventually moved on without him.
In the aftermath of the multiple on-air mishaps, the Chicago media started burying the team's head coach even more.
"Your cellphone is as bad as the offense," David Kaplan said on the show after losing Eberflus on-air. "This is 2024. Can we get a freaking landline? Seriously. Get the man a phone that works."
Kap: "If this isn't crisis, I don't know what is."

Eberflus: "We're looking at this week & this week only..."[phone cuts out for second time]

Before losing Eberflus for the final time, the hosts did bring up the potential change on the offensive coaching staff that might come later today, or even tomorrow. Here's what Eberflus responded with:
"We are in the middle of that process right now. We are looking at adjustments and changes throughout that whole situation there.”

Eberflus is expected to meet with the media later today with his Monday press conference getting pushed back to 12:00 CT. However, who knows if any decisions will be made before then or not.
I'm not one to usually call for someone's job, but it's time for Eberflus to make some kind of change with the offensive staff.
And again, I'm not specifically calling for Waldron to be permanently fired as the Bears' offensive coordinator, but he needs to pass off play-calling duties.
The Bears have plenty of capable candidates to call plays on offense to see if it helps create any kind of improvement for the struggling unit. The first option is passing game coordinator Thomas Brown, who handled play-calling duties mid-season for the Carolina Panthers in 2023. Even quarterbacks coach Kerry Joseph could be a better option than what the team currently has right now.
Not making a move just makes things looks even worse for Eberflus going forward.
