The Kansas City Chiefs are loading up for their run at a Super Bowl three-peat by adding another former Pro Bowl player to their roster.
The Chiefs are signing offensive tackle DJ Humphries to a contract, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Humphries was only recently medically cleared to play again after he suffered a torn ACL with the Arizona Cardinals last year. Rapoport added that the Chiefs are giving Humphries a pretty hefty payday given his status and the time of the season, suggesting he may play a significant role.
The #Chiefs are giving former Pro Bowl LT DJ Humphries a salary that pays him $2M with a max value of $4.5M for the rest of the season in a deal done by @SportsAmdg. Big money this time of year. (Edited for clarity.) https://t.co/oej2xddDMe

Humphries has spent virtually his entire career playing left tackle, a position currently occupied by second-year pro Wanya Morris. Humphries is depth at this point, but given his pedigree and how much the team is paying him, it is not out of the question he could supplant Morris at some point.
Now in his ninth season, Humphries was a regular starter for the Cardinals during his career there. He was selected to the Pro Bowl for the first and only time in his career in 2021.
