The Kansas City Chiefs are in unfamiliar territory heading into a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kansas City is heading into a matchup against the Eagles with an 0-1 record, having lost to the Los Angeles Chargers in their first game of the NFL season.

In the matchup against Los Angeles, which was played in Brazil, to kick off international play during the NFL season, the Chiefs suffered an unfortunate injury.

Wide receiver Xavier Worthy went down with a shoulder injury and wound up being sidelined for the rest of the game.

Worthy was involved in a collision with Travis Kelce that forced him back to the locker room.

On Monday, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid issued a statement on Worthy's injury, following an MRI for the emerging NFL star.

Reid mentioned that Worthy will be evaluated day-by-day and is currently working on rehabbing his shoulder.

"He's rehabbing and working his shoulder, we'll see where it goes, day by day," Reid said.

Xavier Worthy was entering his second season in the NFL, looking to take a major step forward in his offensive involvement with the Kansas City Chiefs, led by head coach Patrick Mahomes.

Last season with the Chiefs, Worthy posted six touchdowns and 638 yards on 59 receptions.

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking for vengeance against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2.

The Eagles defeated the Chiefs in the Super Bowl last season and Kansas City is currently looking to make their fourth straight Super Bowl appearance so avoiding an 0-2 record is vital for Patrick Mahomes and the team.
