The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Detroit Lions, 30-17, on "Sunday Night Football" in Week 6.
After the game ended, Lions safety Brian Branch slapped Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster in a chaotic scene at Arrowhead Stadium.
Nonetheless, the Chiefs are now 3-3 and trending in the right direction.
Going into Week 7, wide receiver Rashee Rice is returning from his six-game suspension, which is good news for the Chiefs.
However, Kansas City saw offensive tackle Josh Simmons miss practice again after missing the game against the Lions due to a personal matter. They also saw running back Breshard Smith miss Wednesday's practice due to an illness.
On Thursday, the Chiefs revealed updates on both players. While Simmons was still not at practice, Smith was planning to return after missing Wednesday, which is good news for Kansas City.
"Josh Simmons (personal) won’t practice for the Chiefs today. Everybody else, including Brashard Smith (who missed yesterday with an illness), will work," per Chiefs reporter Matt McMullen.

Everybody else, including Brashard Smith (who missed yesterday with an illness), will work.
Smith, who is the No. 3 RB on the Chiefs' depth chart, has become a target for Patrick Mahomes in the passing game.
The former SMU star has 11 targets and nine receptions in his last three games, so his usage in the passing game has been going up.
With the lackluster rushing attack this season for the Chiefs, Smith's play has been a pleasant surprise, and having him on the field is a nice addition for the offense.
The Chiefs face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in Kansas City at 1 pm ET.
