Chiefs Announce Injury Updates Before Broncos Game

The Kansas City Chiefs are getting ready to face the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day in Week 17.

This is the second matchup of the season between the two AFC West rivals.

The first one came in Week 11, when Denver knocked off Kansas City 22-19.

The Week 17 meeting will look quite different, however. Patrick Mahomes is now out for the season after suffering a torn ACL and LCL in the Week 15 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chiefs also lost backup quarterback Gardner Minshew to injury in the Week 16 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

The injury report is a lengthy one for the Broncos game, even without Mahomes and Minshew listed as they are on the injured reserve.

On Tuesday, the Chiefs announced updates on several key players.

"Derrick Nnadi was limited in practice today," the Chiefs posted. "Rashee Rice, Trent McDuffie, Tyquan Thornton, Jaylen Watson, and Nikko Remigio did not practice."

The Chiefs are clearly banged up at this time of the year, and could be without their top wide receiver and cornerback when they take the field next.

With two more games remaining, Kansas City is just trying to get through them after being eliminated from playoff contention for the first time in the Mahomes era.
