Chiefs Announce Personal News on Star Player

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will look to end a two-game losing streak in Week 15, hosting Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Chiefs are coming off a disappointing 20-10 loss to the Houston Texans, which dropped them to 6-7 on the 2025 NFL season.

The Kansas City offense had arguably the worst outing of the year against the top-ranked Houston defense. Even Mahomes couldn't get much going, completing under 50% of his passes for 160 yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions. But as the Chiefs look to keep what's left of their playoff hopes alive, Mahomes could be without a key offensive piece.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has been an important part of Andy Reid’s offense throughout 2025. The wide receiver has recorded 42 catches for 494 yards and five touchdowns, tying Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice for the team lead. His strong season comes after he was forced to miss most of last year with a sternoclavicular injury suffered on the opening play of the preseason.

Brown has avoided any serious injuries through 13 games this season. But on Wednesday, the Chiefs released their initial injury report for the upcoming matchup against the Chargers, and Brown was listed as a non-participant in practice due to personal reasons.

Along with Brown, other Kansas City players who were unable to practice on Wednesday include offensive tackles Jawaan Taylor (triceps/knee) and Wanya Morris (knee), who suffered a season-ending injury in Week 14.

"Trent McDuffie was limited in practice today," the Chiefs wrote on X. "Hollywood Brown, Wanya Morris, and Jawaan Taylor did not practice."

Mahomes and the Chiefs will face the Chargers on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
