Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs saw their perfect start to the 2026 NFL season come to an end in Week 7, falling to 5-1 after a 20-3 loss to Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks. Now, the Chiefs will look to get back on track with another tough task in Week 8, facing Bo Nix and AFC West rival Denver Broncos on the road.

Kelce has remained one of Patrick Mahomes’ favorite targets during his 14th season in Kansas City. Through six games, the former Cincinnati Bearcats tight end has brought in 24 catches for 343 yards and two touchdowns, all of which lead the team. And despite being 37, Kelce still ranks ninth in the league with 231 yards after the catch.

But since their last win in Week 6 over the Los Angeles Chargers, Kelce has found himself on the injury report over the last couple of weeks.

Leading up to the Week 7 loss against Seattle, Kelce was listed as a limited participant in practice on the Chiefs’ injury report after rolling his ankle in Week 6, receiving limited action on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. But on its initial injury report for the upcoming matchup against Denver, Kansas City revealed that Kelce was back to full practice participation.

Yet on Thursday, while it could simply be precautionary, the Chiefs decided to list Kelce as a limited participant in practice once again, raising some concern about the tight end’s health ahead of Week 8.

Other notable players on the Kansas City injury report include wide receiver Rashee Rice (hamstring/knee), cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (knee) and defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott (knee), who were all listed as limited as well. Rookie corner Mansoor Delane, however, did not participate in practice on Thursday with a shoulder issue, despite practicing on Wednesday.

“Rashee Rice, Travis Kelce, L’Jarius Sneed, and Omarr Norman-Lott were limited in practice today,” the Chiefs wrote on X. “Mansoor Delane did not practice.”

The Chiefs will face the Broncos on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET, still awaiting the final status for Kelce.
