The Kansas City Chiefs were eliminated from playoff contention following their 16-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. While on a three-game losing streak, they'll look to bounce back with a Week 16 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

The Chiefs are unfortunately dealing with several major injuries. In addition to quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffering a torn ACL, ending his season, cornerback Trent McDuffie is dealing with a knee injury.

At 6-8, the defense has been a bright spot for Kansas City, ranking fifth in the NFL in points allowed per game (19.1). McDuffie has contributed to that success, starting 13 games so far this season.

On Wednesday, in the Chiefs' first Week 16 injury report, the one-time Pro Bowler was listed as a non-participant due to a knee injury. That immediately called into question whether he'd suit up against the Titans.

However, it appears he's taken a step in the right direction. Kansas City revealed an updated injury report on Thursday, upgrading McDuffie to a limited participant.

This season, the cornerback has been targeted 60 times, allowing 38 receptions for 365 yards, four touchdowns and a 95.5 passer rating. He's also accumulated 63 tackles, two tackles for loss, seven pass deflections and one interception.

McDuffie's Pro Football Focus overall grade of 75.6 is the 10th-highest among eligible cornerbacks. Not having him on the field would be a considerable loss for the defensive unit.

With one more practice before Sunday's matchup, his official game status will be announced on Friday. Whether he progresses will be a key indicator of his ability to play.

Kickoff between the Chiefs and Titans is 1 p.m. ET at Nissan Stadium, airing on CBS.
