Chiefs' Aura Still Prominent In Latest Power Rankings

The Kansas City Chiefs have lost some followers after their Super Bowl loss, and especially after the way the offseason has unfolded.

The offensive line is still a big question mark; some are unsure of which Travis Kelce Kansas City will get, and Patrick Mahomes' ability to bring it all together has also seen some think this might be the year the Chiefs stumble from their AFC perch.

But when it comes to power rankings, Kansas City is still in the upper echelon of teams, and for former Pittsburgh Steelers star, and now analyst, Ryan Clark, in talking on the Mina Kimes Show, he has the Chiefs at No. 3, over the Buffalo Bills.

“I'm taking the Chiefs,” Clark said. “Kansas City didn't do a lot in my opinion to improve protection for Patrick Mahomes but when I think of Rashee Rice returning, the sort of space and the place that Xavier Worthy found himself headed down the stretch of the season what we saw in the Super Bowl it felt like they figured out how to utilize his speed in the best way possible.

"I know skinny Travis Kelce has arrived at minicamp and I just think Steve Spagnola and what he's been able to do defensively i do think the Justin Reed loss to New Orleans is a a bigger thing than we've made a deal out of. But I think that the Chiefs are still one of the top teams obviously in all of the league and I put them slightly over Buffalo.”

We take the stance that until we actually see the Chiefs be knocked off the mountain, they will remain the top dogs in the conference.

Yes, the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals all harbour intentions of being the ones who finally slay the Chiefs, but Mahomes and Co. have dominated the AFC and the NFL over the past three seasons.

Now, coming off a poor Super Bowl loss, they must work tirelessly to get back some of the credits they lost in the beatdown to the Philadelphia Eagles.

And despite that loss, the Chiefs are still seen as one of the best teams in football.
