Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Nohl Williams awaits the league’s decision on his unnecessary roughness penalty against Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jalen Nailor.

The Chiefs kept their perfect record intact in Week 4, defeating the Raiders 30-27 in front of a hostile crowd at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Kansas City is now 4-0 to start the new NFL season.

Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the team by completing 15-of-30 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensive back Williams, meanwhile, added four total tackles (two solo) and one pass defended to help secure the team’s fourth straight victory.

But the 24-year-old, in his second year in the league, could face a hefty NFL fine.

Williams was flagged for unnecessary roughness at the 5:30 mark of the second quarter. The Chiefs DB’s tackle delivered a forceful, high hit on Nailor, who couldn’t catch Kirk Cousins’ deep throw.

The foul resulted in a 14-yard, half-the-distance-to-the-goal penalty against Kansas City and an automatic first down for Las Vegas. The Raiders ultimately settled for a 32-yard field goal on the drive. Unfortunately, the Raiders lost Nailor for the rest of the game after being diagnosed with a concussion from that play.

The NFL will now review this incident to determine whether Williams will receive further punishment. For context, a hit on a defenseless player carries a $17,911 fine for a first offense under the 2026 NFL fine schedule. The former California standout could also be fined $23,882 (first offense) if it is determined that he launched or impermissibly used his helmet. However, the NFL could also find no wrongdoing and decide not to fine him.

The league typically releases its weekly accountability report on Saturday afternoons.

With this latest win, the Chiefs are now the lone leader in the AFC West with an unblemished 4-0 record. The Raiders absorbed their first loss of the year, dropping to 3-1.

Kansas City will enjoy a Week 5 bye before returning home in Week 6 to host the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 18. The Raiders, meanwhile, will look to bounce back against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
