Chiefs CB L'Jarius Sneed says he hopes to continue legendary run in Kansas City amidst trade rumors
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs CB L'Jarius Sneed has been at the center of trade rumors ever since the team applied the non-exclusive franchise tag on him over a week ago.

Those rumors persist on Day 2 of the legal tampering window with the Tennessee Titans now entering the race to land Sneed. As rumors continued to swirl, Sneed was in Kansas City on Tuesday at a charity event. He presented a check to Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City in collaboration with Zarda BBQ, who made a special sandwich benefiting the cause.

“Shout out to the community, the charity, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters for putting this together for two years straight,” Sneed said, via KSHB-TV

Asked about next season and a chance to three-peat, Sneed commented on the ongoing situation. He reiterated his desire to stay in Kansas City.

“Two is legendary, but three? You never get tired of getting rings,” Sneed said on Tuesday, via KSHB-TV “Hopefully I’m with the Chiefs. Hopefully I’m still here and we can go back and repeat.”

The fourth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech is the definition of a homegrown talent for Kansas City. His commitment to the team is apparent through his play on the field. His commitment to the K.C. community is apparent through his charitable contributions like the one celebrated today.

While Chiefs Kingdom would certainly love to run it back with Sneed for the 2024 NFL season, it's hard to imagine it happening absent a long-term contract extension. He's deserving of that, whether it happens in Kansas City or elsewhere.
