It was reported Sunday that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Josh Gordon could be elevated to the active roster for this coming Sunday's showdown with the Buffalo Bills.
According to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, Kansas City head coach Andy Reid told reporters Monday the former All-Pro wideout could make his Chiefs debut in front of a national television audience on Sunday night.
"I’m going to just see how he does this week," Reid said of the often-suspended receiver. "And talk to him — I haven’t talked to him today, but we’ll just see kind of where he’s at and how he’s feeling. There’s a chance, but there’s a chance that he’s not, also. So I’m going to just kind of play it by ear and see how he feels."
Reid commented this past Friday that Gordon was still getting into football shape and learning the playbook, which is why the 30-year-old didn't play in the Week 4 42-30 victory at the Philadelphia Eagles that propelled the Chiefs to 2-2 on the season. Gordon hasn't played in an NFL game since 2019 and signed with the club last week after he was reinstated from his most recent ban.
Buffalo, meanwhile, improved to 3-1 via a dominant 40-0 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday.
