The Kansas City Chiefs (6-10) close out their season Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, a game that has taken on added weight amid growing speculation surrounding Travis Kelce’s future. With Kansas City already eliminated from postseason contention, the matchup has sparked discussion about whether this could be Kelce’s final NFL game, or at least his final one in a Chiefs uniform.
The uncertainty has hovered over the week as the franchise icon enters the finale with his long-term plans unresolved, leaving fans to wonder if they’re witnessing the final chapter of a storied career in red and gold.
Ahead of Sunday’s showdown, the veteran tight end was photographed entering Allegiant Stadium wearing a black casual outfit and sunglasses.
The Chiefs reacted to Kelce’s potential final entrance into a stadium as a football player, sharing images of Kelce on Instagram with the caption: “TK in LV.”
Kelce is in the final year of his current contract, and while he has not officially announced any decision, he has acknowledged that retirement is something to consider in the offseason.
If this does turn out to be the end, it would close the book on one of the most decorated careers ever at the position. Through 13 seasons, Kelce has compiled 1,077 catches for 12,990 yards and has scored 85 touchdowns in the regular season. An 11-time Pro Bowl and seven-time All-Pro selection, Kelce has also won three Super Bowl championships and is a future Hall of Famer.
Kansas City will seek to close out the year on a positive note against Las Vegas, with kickoff set for 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS. Whether it’s a farewell or simply another stop, Kelce will again be at the center of attention as the Chiefs and Raiders close their seasons.
