The Kansas City Chiefs have gone through a nightmare season.
After entering the season looking to avenge their Super Bowl loss, the Chiefs have been eliminated from the playoffs with quarterback Patrick Mahomes being sidelined with a season-ending injury.
Kansas City has undergone several changes to the lineup due to injuries all season. The offense has gone through multiple revamps as Andy Reid attempted to revive the Chiefs.
In the latest move, the Kansas City Chiefs waived running back Elijah Mitchell.
"We have waived RB Elijah Mitchell," posted the official social media account of the Kansas City Chiefs.
We have signed Practice Squad players T Chukwuebuka Godrick, QB Chris Oladokun, and RB Dameon Pierce to active roster contracts.

After just one season with the team, Elijah Mitchell's time with the Kansas City Chiefs has come to an end. Mitchell capped off his season with the Chiefs, playing just one game.
Before playing in Kansas City, Mitchell spent three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. His best season came in 2021 when Mitchell posted five touchdowns and 963 yards as an undrafted rookie.
He'll soon be available on waivers after the Chiefs made the decision to cut Mitchell, turning to Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt to continue leading the backfield while Patrick Mahomes is out of the lineup on the offensive end.
The Kansas City Chiefs will finish the season with a matchup against the Tennessee Titans in Week 16 and follow that with games against the Denver Broncos and the Las Vegas Raiders.
