The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly calling up a pair of players from the practice squad to help them in their pursuit of history in Sunday's Super Bowl 59 matchup vs. the Eagles.
According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, KC has chosen to elevate linebacker Swayze Bozeman and veteran cornerback Steven Nelson to the active roster ahead of tomorrow's big game.
Bozeman appeared in three games for the Chiefs this season where he registered three tackles. While Nelson could see his first game action of the year after briefly retiring back in June and signing with the two-time defending champs a couple of months ago.
Nelson started his career in Kansas City where he spent the first four seasons of his career after being selected in the third round out of Washington back in 2015.
All told the 32-year-old has started 115 games across his nine years in the pros and his experience could prove to be helpful to the Chiefs on the backend this weekend.
Nelson also started at left corner for the 2021 Eagles in Nick Sirianni's first year, so it's possible there's some familiarity there as well that Andy Reid, Steve Spagnuolo and Co. could take advantage of.
The Chiefs are currently 1.5-point favorites over Philadelphia according to most sportsbooks, but the most popular bet during Super Bowl week has been on the Eagles moneyline.
The big game kicks off at 6:30 PM ET tomorrow on FOX.
