Chiefs Ex Loves Patrick Mahomes' 'Hard-To-Top' Receivers Unit

The Kansas City Chiefs' offense last season left a lot to be desired, but with Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice only playing four games between them in the regular season, that is two big weapons who were on the sidelines.

But now, as we turn toward 2025, Rice is on the comeback trail, and Brown has hit the ground running at minicamp.

So those two weapons, to go with Xavier Worthy, who really improved in the second half of his rookie season last year, give the Chiefs quite a trio for Patrick Mahomes to work with.

And former Chiefs receiver Gehrig Dieter is a big fan of Kansas City's top three weapons.

"Hard to think of a better WR core (top 3 guys) than the Chiefs," Dieter posted on X.

So we have Rice, Worthy, and Brown. However, we can also add Juju Smith-Schuster, Jalen Royals, and even Travis Kelce to that list as well.

That rounds out a rather potent receiver room if all stay healthy. This was the biggest issue last season; the injury bug struck the Chiefs, and it wasn't short-term injuries either.

Brown didn't see the field until Week 16, and Rice was lost for the year after Week 2, so Mahomes didn't have what many thought were his top two weapons for most of the season.

The hope is that it will change in 2025, and the offense can see a serious uptick in performance, with coordinator Matt Nagy stating the Chiefs want to bring back the deep ball as a key part of the offense.

And having a top-three receiver trio of Worthy, Rice, and Brown makes that a little easier for Mahomes to execute.
