Chiefs facing sudden Josh Simmons dilemma that could upend Week 6 plans

The continuity and improvement of the Kansas City Chiefs offensive line has been one of the most heartening storylines in a frustrating season so far. But that might change in Week 6 with the latest news coming out before the Chiefs host the Detroit Lions in primetime. The Chiefs officially added Josh Simmons to the injury report shortly before the game with a questionable designation. They added that it's not actually injury-related but that he might miss the night's game for personal reasons. The Chiefs' first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Simmons has been a pre-game addition to the list of injured players coming in to each of the last two weeks. Simmons was listed as questionable with an illness shortly before the Chiefs visited the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football in Week 5. If Simmons is unable to play, the Chiefs' protection up front will take a hit given his excellent level of play so far as a rookie.
