The full NFL schedule has now been released with teams knowing who they will play and where, with the Kansas City Chiefs having a rather interesting opening portion to theirs.
Andy Reid's team will face the Los Angeles Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Baltimore Ravens in the first month, and also play the Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders, and Buffalo Bills all by Week 9.
So, the Chiefs will play a few high-caliber games, and they could also have playoff implications.
For NFL.com's Jeffri Chadiha, the Chiefs' 2025 schedule is all about heavyweight matchups.
"It's always fun when the best quarterbacks in the league meet during the regular season, and this year will be no different for Kansas City," Chadiha writes. "Patrick Mahomes will battle with Lamar Jackson's Ravens in Week 4 and Josh Allen's Bills in Week 9. Those three players have won the last three league MVPs, and Mahomes has beaten both in the past two AFC title games. Don't miss these contests. You'd regret it."
Many doubt the Chiefs' ability to climb the mountain again in 2025, but their early slate of games will prove whether they are up to the task.
The Eagles, Ravens, Lions, and Commanders are at Arrowhead, where Mahomes is 89-23 in his career, and the Bills are the only road game against a contender during that span.
So, we will find out rather early if the 2025 Chiefs have what it takes to compete with the best in football. While some are out on the Chiefs and think the dynasty is ending, the opening two months of the season will answer if they are still to be considered part of the NFL elite.
