The Kansas City Chiefs got off to an awful start in Sunday’s must-win game against the Houston Texans. The Chiefs entered the home game at Arrowhead Stadium following a tough loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, which dropped them to 6-6 on the season. Kansas City’s playoff hopes are hanging in the balance, and it simply cannot afford another loss on Sunday.
In the first play of the game, the Chiefs lost offensive lineman Wanya Morris to what appears to be a serious knee injury. Moments later, star defensive back Trent McDuffie was forced to exit the game as well after also injuring his knee.
Morris got his first start of the season on Sunday, replacing Jawaan Taylor in the starting lineup. Taylor’s absence shifted Jaylon Moore to right tackle, which opened up the starting left tackle spot for Morris. Unfortunately for the 25-year-old OL, his night ended in disaster due to what could potentially be a season-ending injury.
McDuffie’s case is not as severe as that of Morris’. The All-Pro DB sustained his injury in the first quarter after attempting to defend a pass for Texans wide receiver Nico Collins. McDuffie came out of the sequence with a knee issue, which forced him to exit the game.

After the medical team checked on the injury, the Chiefs took to social media to make an announcement about McDuffie.
“CB Trent McDuffie is questionable to return (knee),” the team posted on X.

McDuffie was seen on the sidelines in the second quarter wearing a brace on his knee. According to Chiefs reporter Matt Derrick, McDuffie also had a noticeable limp as he walked on the sidelines.
It's going to be an uphill battle for the Chiefs in this one. As of writing, they are down 10-0 with less than a minute remaining in the half.
